Another Harvest Without You — Still Searching for Cole

Julie Hosack • October 23, 2025

Another season has come and gone on the farm — another harvest without Cole.

The air carries that familiar mix of crispness and nostalgia, and while the world keeps turning, our hearts remain suspended in time, still waiting for answers. Life hasn’t settled, but it continues — in small moments of laughter, in growing children, in memories that refuse to fade. Here’s where we are now — still standing, still searching, still loving him through it all.

It’s hard to believe how much time has passed since we last saw Cole’s smile, heard his laugh, or got one of his famous bear hugs. As the leaves turned and the fields ripened once again, another harvest season came and went without him.

The farm was alive with the hum of machinery, the smell of grain in the air, and that golden glow that only fall brings — but there was a quiet ache woven through it all. Cole loved this time of year. Harvest always brought out his work ethic and his humor, his way of making even the hardest days lighter. To walk through another season without him was both beautiful and heartbreaking. The world keeps moving, but for us, time has never really caught up since he went missing.

Despite our constant reaching out and follow-ups, there is still no news from police. No new information, no confirmed leads, no updates — just silence. That silence cuts deeper as the days pass, but we hold on to hope, because love demands it. Cole is loved. He is missed. And he deserves to be found.

 Life’s Unsteady Rhythm

Life has yet to settle into anything that feels normal. Just when we think we’ve made it through the worst of the storm, another wave of tragedy hits. Our family has endured more loss, more heartbreak, and yet somehow, we keep finding our way back to our feet. Some days it’s survival, other days it’s strength — but every day it’s love that keeps us going.

Bentley’s New Chapter

This fall marked a huge milestone — Bentley started school. And oh, how proud his daddy would be. He’s growing into such a curious, kind-hearted, and fearless little boy. He’s got that same mischievous twinkle in his eye that Cole had, and that same infectious laugh that fills the room. Watching him put on his backpack that first morning felt like a punch to the heart — bittersweet and beautiful all at once. Cole should’ve been there, kneeling down to tie his shoes, telling him how proud he was. We could almost feel him there, smiling from somewhere unseen.

Our Little Princess

Our little princess is growing like a weed, full of life, sass, and spirit. Her giggles are contagious, her energy boundless. She’s a walking reminder that even through grief, life keeps blooming. These little ones — their laughter, their love — they are what keeps our hearts from collapsing entirely.

The Weight and the Light

Grief doesn’t follow rules, and healing isn’t something you check off a list. Some days we are strong; other days, we break in quiet moments when no one’s watching. There are days when we stare at the phone, hoping for a call that doesn’t come. But through every storm, we have been carried by an incredible community — people who continue to show up, to pray, to share, and to remind us that we’re not alone.

Still Searching

Cole’s story is far from over. We will never stop speaking his name, sharing his story, or searching for the truth. Every harvest, every sunrise, every milestone is a reminder of what’s missing — but also of what remains: love, hope, and resilience.

To everyone who continues to walk this journey with us — thank you. Your kindness, your messages, your light help us keep going.

Until he’s found, we’ll keep the light on.

For Cole. Always.

With love,

Julie & Family

A year ago today marked the last time I saw Cole, hugged him, and told him I loved him. I didn’t know it would be the last time. I didn’t know life as I knew it was about to change forever.
